I have known Al off and on for close to 40 years. In later years when we would run into each other we always greeted each other like we'd just spoken the day before. Back in school, and the last time I saw him standing by that old car he was restoring he had me laughing like he always did! Al was indeed a treasure, he and Cindy are in some of my happiest memories. My heart goes out to you Cindy and your family.

Al loved his family deeply, spoke of them often, and carried that love and respect with him every day. He never had a negative thought or comment about anyone or anything. Always smiling, always positive. Good man, good friend.

Words cannot express the comfort I wish I could give to ease your grief. Al was one of my favorite people. He had an impact on everyone he met, including me. So how could your grief be less? I don't think it will lessen, but in time I believe the love and gratitude you have for him will overtake the heartache and your memories of him will be so sweet. God has His ways of taking our sorrows and using them for good. Be patient as He weaves His goodness into your life and soon you'll be able to look behind you and say surely goodness and mercy have been following me all the days of my life. I am thankful that I knew Al. He really was a blessing. Love, Joy

Cindy, my heart aches for you. From the time I met Al when Mandy and Laura were in 5th grade until the last time I saw him outside Kroger several months ago, I never saw him when he wasn't smiling and making others smile with him, he was a truly happy person. When we talked, he was beaming about his grandson and another grandbaby on the way. Mandy, Fallan and Alicia, no Daddy could have loved or been more proud of his girls. Know you all have so many special memories in your hearts to keep your Dad close always. I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping you all in my thoughts, heart and prayers.

To my most precious cousin & his family,
I love Al so much & always will. Even though we've been apart for 39 yrs, in many ways the yrs melt away, & I feel transported back to the days of our youth. He was my favorite male cousin, really just like one us girls. Too fun & kind & sweet & funny to put into words. Humble beyond belief, down to earth with a pure heart & incomparable love for family. I remember him being so proud of his big old long blue car as a teenager, whatever it was, always parked in our driveway at 511 Oakwood Drive! He & my Mom were bosom buddies - he was buddies with so many people. I know the Lord has to be celebrating Al's return home. Al was the best of the best, the cream of the crop for all of the reasons everyone has mentioned..."never saw you down, never saw you frown, always so much fun to be around. Adored his family. Bright & positive person. Bright spot in this world, always had a smile & a kind word. Smiling face, boyish enthusiasm, joy to be around. Smile & sincerity. Kindest of men. Brought happiness & laughter to everyone he met." These comments so sum up sweet Al. He made a difference in this world, & his legacy is carried on through Cindy, his beautiful girls, & his grandchildren. God bless you all & bring you joy & peace in His time. My love to & gratitude for each of you, & may your hearts & minds find rest.
