Dennis Eagen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 17, 2010.

Dennis W. Eagen, 71, of 1219 3rd Ave. N., a retired heavy equipment operator and foreman, died of natural causes Friday at his home.
His funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the O'Connor Memorial Chapel, with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Dennis passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2010, with his beloved family at his side. He was born July 13, 1938, in Great Falls, where he was raised and educated.
Dennis married Marybeth Hoover on June 11, 1960, in Great Falls. In 1967, he and Marybeth moved to western Washington. In 1993, he retired, and they moved to Roundup, Mont. In August 2009, they came full circle, returning to Great Falls.
Dennis spent 52 years in the Operating Engineers Union. He worked for seven years on the Alaska pipeline as a heavy equipment operator and foreman.
Dennis enjoyed his family, fishing, boating, hunting and camping. Storytelling was his passion and he always had a captive audience, especially around the campfire. He had a tough exterior but a soft heart. He lived his life to the fullest with no regrets.
Survivors include his wife, Marybeth Eagen of Great Falls; a daughter, Kelly (Robert) Robinson of Seattle; a son, Mark (Linda) Eagen of Seattle; a brother, Mike Eagen of Great Falls; a niece, Laurie; a nephew, Danny; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Myrna Eagen; a brother, Jim Eagen; and a niece, Jamie.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.

MaryBeth and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Dennis. I will miss his phone calls, his great stories and coming to hunt on our ranch. I told him he should really have written a book! Our condolences to you and your family.

Marybeth,Kelly and Mark you have my deepest sympathy. Damm I have been going to stop a dozen times and something always came up, I as I am sure you will miss Denny he was a good friend and a lot of fun to work with from rocks in my lunchpail to coppenhagen on my steering wheel(sweedish candyfor my kids) they are still spitting it out, and never will forget it. Dennis is a man none of us will forget, He was either laughing himself to sleep over a prank he had just played on you . Or sleeping with one eye open dreaming about the next one he was going to get you with.

God bless, Mitch & Sandra Brobak
P.S. If the weather holds I am trying to fly in a private plane, I hope
