Edmundo B. Nery, D.M.D., 84, of Inverness, passed away Tues., June 10, 2014 at Hospice House in Lecanto. A native of Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines, he was born April 6, 1930 to José and Paula (Barbin) Nery, the youngest of five children. Eddie, as he was known to many, was retired from his dental practice in Milwaukee, WI., a career that spanned 21 years. He worked as a dentist at the VA Hospital and was Chief of Dental Research. He was also Adjunct Professor in Periodontics at Marquette University. Dr. Nery earned his degree in dentistry in the Philippines and awarded a periodontics fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nery moved to the United States in 1963 and to Inverness in 1996 from New Berlin, WI. Some of his passions in life were fishing, music, painting and singing. He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Teresita L. Nery, Inverness; son, Jose A. Nery, Minneapolis, MN; daughter Melissa Nery (wife Mirna Rivera); San Francisco, CA and sister Remedios Avila, Daet, Philippines. Dr, Nery was preceded in death by his two sisters, Isabel and Manuela, and brother Agapito. Friends will be received at Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills on Fri., June 13th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., with prayer service at 6:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., June 14th at 10:00 A.M. from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, with Fr. Erwin Belgica, Celebrant.
