Obituary Notice
Edwin J. Horn, 77, of Union City, passed away on May 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1935 in Kalamazoo to Alfred and Katherine (Johnson) Horn.
After high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps from 1952-1955, serving in the Korean War. In 1957 he married Shirley Hibbard, the marriage ended in divorce. Ed farmed, drove truck and retired from the Marshall Post Office in 1997. On August 5, 1989, he married Carol Rafferty in Marshall. Ed enjoyed gardening, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends, hosting a pig roast for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Carol, three daughters; Debbie (Willie) Doolittle of Athens, Sandie (Chris) Carter of Battle Creek and Patti (John) Mathias of Colorado, step-daughter; Brenda (Scott) Griffiths of Tekonsha, step-son; Mike (Kori) Rafferty of Tekonsha, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three brothers; Marvin (Barbara) Horn of Galesburg, David (Ruthann) Horn of Constantine, Dick (Anne) Horn of Vicksburg, two sisters-in-law; Jackie Horn of Portage and Mary Horn of Delton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Teresa and brothers; Roger and William.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with two hours of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City with Minister Otis Lang officiating.
