Francis C. "Frank" Fontenot, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his New Orleans residence. Son of the late Marie Ortego and Curtis Fontenot. Beloved brother of Estelle F. Hoskinson, Rosarina F. Eichler, Shirley Fontenot, Loretta Landry and the late Anne F. Bordelon. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fontenot was a native of Ville Platte, LA and a resident of New Orleans since 1948. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a retired Certified Public Accountant and a long time employee of O.E.D.C.O. Mr. Fontenot was a member of the International Association of Certified Public Accountants, and was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church on Chartres Street.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Metairie chapel of THARP-SONTHEIEMR-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd at 43rd Street, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Inurnment in Garden of Memories will be at a later date. Condolences may be expressed online at www.tharpsontheimer.com.
