George David Kalb, 68, loving husband and beloved father and grandfather, died October 24, 2013 at his home in Las Vegas. He was born October 9, 1945 in Hollywood, CA and moved to Las Vegas in 1952. George is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara, brother Steve, daughter Cindy, son Jeff and 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Tanner and Devlin. After graduating from Washington University, George started his construction career under his father in July of 1970. In 1980, he and his brother started Kalb Construction Company, which thrived in the Las Vegas valley, constructing over 1000 buildings. George had a great love for the outdoors, whether it was boating on Lake Mead, fishing for salmon in Alaska or big game hunting in Africa. He got his first Big Horn Sheep Grand Slam in 1980. George was a 40 year member of the Las Vegas Executives Association, Associated General Contractors, board member of the Safari International Club and member of the Ducks Unlimited organization. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who were so much a part of his life and all those who knew him from the construction community. Visitation will be Friday November 1 from 5-7PM with services held at 10AM on Saturday November 2 at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
