Phillip Sewell, Ecru
James Phillip Sewell, age 64, died Friday, April 23, 2010 in an automobile accident in Winfield, AL. He was a member of the Ecru United Methodist Church and an Air Force veteran. Phil enjoyed working at the Town Square Post Office and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics and the church.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Ecru United Methodist Church with Rev. William Montgomery officiating, burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Ecru is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife: Terri Steele Sewell of Ecru, MS; his Father: James L. Sewell and Step-Mother: Leveda of Saltillo, MS; His Children: Natalie Nida (Nick) FL, Christie Sewell, Brad Sewell, Jennifer Sewell and Joe Sewell all of Atlanta, GA, and Lane Tate of Ecru, MS; his Brother: Len Sewell of Ecru. 5 Grandchildren: Macon and Caleb Tate, Laura Sky Nida, Kelie Sewell and Carter Good.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Laura Graddy Sewell, his Grandparents: Leonard and Clyde Sewell , Harvey and Annie Graddy.
Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Hoover, Ronnie Steele, Dusty Parker, Richard Morris, Mike Willard and Wesley Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Auburn Pearman, Gene Ward and Allen Simmons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 to 1 PM Monday at the church.
