Jerry Lynn Adams, 66, of Killeen went to be with the Lord surrounded by family and friends on Dec 3, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a loving Christian husband and father, and a member of First Baptist Church of Jarrell.
Jerry was born to William Roscoe (Bud) and Rosa Virginia Caraway Adams on Feb. 10, 1947 in Decatur, TX. After graduation from Decatur High School in 1966, he joined the Navy where he trained and worked as a jet mechanic. During his service in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Ranger off the coast of Vietnam.
While stationed at a Naval Air Station in Kingsville, TX, he met Jo Nita Love and they were married on March 7, 1969 in Alice, TX. Together they had three daughters, Shauna, Danielle, and Ashleigh.
After leaving the Navy in 1970, Jerry went to work in Gainesville, TX as a lineman for what was then TP&L and later became TXU/Oncor. In 1979, he moved his family to Killeen, TX, where he became a crew foreman for TXU/Oncor until his retirement in 2007. Jerry made many lifelong friends during his career with TXU/Oncor, and those who worked with him had great respect for him.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and take canoe trips. His hobbies included working on and building guns and flint knapping (making arrowheads).
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Rosa Adams.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Jo Nita, daughters, Shauna (Ryan) Potts, Danielle (Chris) Stedman, Ashleigh (Nick) Pettijohn, brother, Bill (Deanie) Adams, mother-in-law, Anita Love, Grandchildren, Colton Henderson, Mikayela Bergthal, Hannah and Ryan Stedman, Caelan, Jerryn, Teagan, and Rayce Pettijohn, and a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

The family will receive visitors from 3-5pm Sunday December 8, 2013 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
