Joanne Lafferty was born on December 14, 1959 at Beverly Community Hospital in Montebello, California. She was the daughter of Jerry and Helen Whittle. Although born in Montebello, she was raised in La Habra, California.
Joanne was raised with two siblings. She had an older brother Steve, and a younger sister Kathy. Joanne was constantly involved in activities with her family. Growing up she enjoyed softball, modeling, and spending time with her best friend Stacy O'Brien. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1978. Later in life she became best friends with Sandra Brown.
Joanne was a good mother to her children. Joanne was blessed with two children, one son Mark and one daughter Jeanelle. Her family was rounded out by her cat, Lulu.
Her primary occupation was as a cocktail waitress. She was employed with the Frontier Hotel and Casino and the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Some of her favorite pursuits were gambling, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Favorite vacations included Hawaii, a family trip to Utah, New York City, and many childhood vacations.
Joanne passed away on June 3, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joanne fought a brave battle against breast cancer. She is survived by her parents Jerry and Helen; her brother Steve and sister Kathy; her son Mark and daughter Jeanelle. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary. Joanne was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joanne was a trustworthy, pragmatic and sympathetic person. She will be missed by all.

We are so sorry to hear about Joann's passing. Just remembering all of the good times we had as children, at the Whittle reunions and the ones in Peoa. She will be missed!! All our love, Janice and Brent
