John William Henson Sr, 93, of Memphis passed away on December 19, 2013. He was born in Lewis County, TN to the late Ethel and Earnest Henson. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and retired U.S. Navy Veteran where he served for 23 years. While in the active reserves he entered into the automotive repair field as a technician throughout the Memphis area. He enjoyed genealogy, repairing bicycles, reading and telling stories about his Navy career. John recently returned to Pearl Harbor with the group Forever Young. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nenie, who passed away on their 57th wedding anniversary. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. John leaves his sons John Henson Jr.(Charlotte), David Henson (Robin), one daughter Wilma Gail Brown (Randy), one sister Dorothy King, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm, Sunday December 22, 2013, with funeral services at 2pm, on Monday, December 23, 2013, all to be held at Family Funeral Care.
