Age 90
Passed away peacefully on 30 March 2014 at home in North St. Paul. She was born in St. Paul on 12 August 1923, the daughter of Maria Cesedia and Giuseppe DiCosimo. She trained as a beautician while still a teen and remained one until retirement, operating her own shop from the basement of her eastside home for more than thirty years. On 16 May 1942, she married Wallace Weston, who died 1 November 1990. Louise's life centered on family. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. In retirement, she often babysat her grandchildren, and when not babysitting she enjoyed hearing daily reports of their activities. She was the quiet one in her family, always more of a listener than a talker. She was an excellent cook, especially good at making kid-pleasing dishes such as very thin pancakes with homemade syrup, fried spaghetti, and buttered noodles. She was a meticulous housekeeper, scrubbing so hard the chrome came off bathroom fixtures. She liked to watch old movies, read romance novels, play card and dice games, go to casinos, and travel. But most of all she liked to shop, especially for clothes, shoes, and purses. Even in her later years she could out-shop her daughters, putting together coordinated ensembles which everyone—except she herself—thought were perfect. Louise is survived by two daughters, Barbara Weston and husband Fred Rose, St. Paul, and Luann and husband Curt Schneider, St. Paul Park; a son, Scott, North St. Paul; sisters, Margaret Babler and Gloria Chatterton, both of North St. Paul; a brother Emmett DiCosimo, St. Paul; grandchildren Jessica (Aaron), Curt, and Emily Schneider, and Matthew Tiziani; great-granddaughters, Ava and Sophia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Betty Swanson; sisters, Blanche Petterssen and Flora Findeisen; and a brother, Ralph DiCosimo. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, April 3 at 10:30 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4125 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury, MN. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
