Marjorie P. Ballert, age 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed to a life without struggle on Friday, January 22, 2010 with her loving granddaughter, Kim by her side at Heartland of Perrysburg. She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on November 23, 1921. During WWII she moved to Toledo and was employed with Willys Overland. Marjorie loved going to the casinos, Lake Jimmerson, playing family bunco and playing cards. She was very active with Ryder School Mother's Club. Marge was a loving, giving and accepting lady and her family was #1 and always came first. She lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Mary Jo for many years. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel "Manny" Ballert, mother, Gladys White, brothers, Russell White, John Groves. Marjorie is survived by her children, Carol Dickey, Beverly Rinehart, David (Deborah) Ballert, Dennis (Mary Jo) Ballert, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, sister and best friend, Mary Drzewiecki and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Marjorie will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville (at Alexis) 429-473-1301, on Monday, January 25 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 am on Tuesday. Marge family would like to "Thank" the care givers at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Lambertville) and to Comfort Keepers, Cathy and Cindi. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the American Red Cross (Haiti Fund).
