Mary Noyes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 30, 2014.

Noyes, Mary Pauline Saraceno, age 86 born to adoring parents Giovanni Battista Saraceno and Margherita Rose Yapelli, Italian immigrants from Cortale, Italy on April 07, 1928 in Chicago, IL and died April 25, 2014 in Los Alamitos, CA. Her family relocated to Long Beach, CA immediately after WWII. She worked at Allen Shipyards and McDonnell Douglas Co., as well as her family's dry cleaning & tailor shop; she was also training to be a nurse at the old Seaside Hospital. At a Christmas party in 1952 she met our Dad, Chet Noyes, at St. Lucy Catholic Church in Long Beach and they soon wed in 1953, settling in Lakewood. She loved her family, life, and friends, and she so enjoyed being a homemaker. She was always loving, patient, warm, kind, wise, and supportive mother and wife. Predeceased in death by sisters Carmela Riga and Joanne Saraceno. Survived by children Cherie Grant (Bruce), John Noyes (Darline), George Noyes (Rosalyn Allison), 2 grandchildren Melanie Grant and Jennifer Ferriolo (Joseph), 2 great-grandchildren Makenzie and Reagan Ferriolo, sister Theresa Wood, and aunt Ida Logan, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Mom told us, Her Mother and Father named her Mary, in namesake of the Virgin Mary. Her identity was Mom. She knew that A Mother's Love is a Precious Gift, and that is what she gave. We will love you always and will miss you forever. Your love will guide us and will give us strength until we join you again someday. Funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church Thursday May 08, 2014 at 10am in Seal Beach. Interment at All Souls Cemetery. Please sign guest book at www.luybenfamilyd-m.com 562 425-6401.

Cherie Saraceno Noyes Grant

Dear Mom, I am feeling so alone and miss you very much. I see your beautiful face and so many happy memories of you fill my mind. I wanted to let you know that at funeral mass on 05/08/14 your nephew Tony sang the Ave Maria and your niece Maria sang Amazing Grace & The Our Father. They both sang a capella and the songs were beautiful. All of your nieces & nephews miss you and love you including Elizabeth, Frank, John, Diane, Margie; Tony, Maria, Joe; Steve & Chris. Cora gave two beautiful readings from the Book of Wisdom & Thessolians. I wore your beautiful cross necklace and then at the reception, I gave Cora that necklace as per your request a few days before you passed. I know you are watching over us all from Heaven in God's arms along with Grandma Margaret, Grandpa John, Aunt Carmie, & Aunt Joanne. I will love you forever, Your Daughter Cherie.

Dear Aunt Mary, our memories of you are sweet and cherished. As children you were there to share your home and your love. When times were hard for our family you were there for us like only a Dear Aunt could be. We will never forget you, your compassion, your intelligence and your love. May God bless you and your family and thank you for being the loving person that you were for all of us.

I pray your memories will comfort you at this difficult time.
I only met Mary 7 months ago but in that time we became good friends. I enjoyed having lunch with her at her favorite restaurants and shopping for clothes, curtains, and things for Melanie. I'll miss her and the time we used to spend together.

I met Mary when I married Joanne Saraceno many years ago, I always thought how good she was and loving to her children. Recently I had the opportunity to see her again, and she looked great, so I was sorry to hear of her passing. She will be missed as well as Joanne is missed. Bless you Mary and may God Speed.

May you find comfort in the love and faith that she is sharing with Him in rest at this time … away from the distress of her latest events. May He give you Love, faith, comfort, and understanding … but above all … Love.
God Bless You All

Dear Aunt Mary, I have so many happy, loving and "super fun" childhood memories of you and your always welcoming house. I don't think a weekend ever went by in the summertime when I wasn't asking my mom if we could go to your house to swim! Family, food and fun :) Thank you! You will be missed here by all of us but I know you are in good company. We love you. Comfort and peace be with you, Cherie, John and Bud.
