Mimi Bloeser Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2014.

Mimi McBride Bloeser

May 24, 1953 - July 1, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mimi. A consummate mother, beloved wife and cherished sister, Mimi devoted herself to helping others. In particular, she guided grieving children with understanding and respect, while they coped with the loss of a loved one. Now we grieve for her.

Mimi is survived by her ever loving husband, Jerry; devoted children, Mark, Stacey and Ryan, and wonderfully supportive siblings, Jimmy, Jeannie and Bonnie, as well as dozens of nieces, nephews and in-laws, each of whom she adored. She cherished her friends and practiced her faith with great devotion.

Mimi was the soul of kindness and love; everyone she touched knew that they were loved.

Viewing and Rosary will be held on Friday, July 11th, at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary, 5161 E. Arbor Road; there will be a Viewing: 5:00 - 6:30; Rosary: 6:30; Remembrances: 7pm - 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 12th, at 11am, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 6220 E. Willow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Knights of Columbus (kofc.org), who helped Mimi and her family during her childhood.

Jerry, we loved Mimi !!! We met you & Mimi in Turin, Italy on our Pilgrimage tour in 2010 and I instantly felt a connection with her. I felt like I had known her forever ! We enjoyed our time together in Italy on that tour and contined our friendship for the next 4 years. She was so full of life and always happy and positive. Remember when you and Mimi met us in Las Vegas? We had such a wonderful time in Las Vegas with you both in the Fall of 2010 .... we will never forget going to the CHER show together. And the last 2 years when we came to California, we had such a wonderful time with you both. We felt like we had known the 2 of you forever & just picked right back up where we left off. She remains in our hearts forever. Please know that you are in our thoughts & prayers. Love, Jen & Chuck Deemer

I think of Mimi often and was so blessed to have her as a teacher while my daughter and I attended LBCC. She was full of grace, humor and wisdom and I have always cherished my time with her as my teacher. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, and pray that God may bless her family and friends, and give them peace that surpasses all understanding.

In 1998 I ook a class Mimi taught at LBCC-Child Dev.Center. In order to get an A I had to do a project. One of the choices was to interview someone in you family about their history. I chose my mother-in-law who I adored. I ended up with a tape recording of her telling her story, a 17 page transcribed paper and the gift of getting to know my mother-in-law even more. I thank you Mimi for teaching me to go for the A and in return get such a blessing. God Bless you!

We were so sorry to hear of her passing and would like to extend our condolences. When we think of Mimi, we think of tenderness, active listening, and the fact that she was so 'available'. To anyone who needed her. Especially the children of the world. When we first met her, our children were quite young. She would bend down and kneel or sit with them, and listen. Intently. To, in many cases, what amounted to much gibberish. But she smiled and 'oohd' and 'awwed' and shared a truthful and real moment with them so enthusiastically, that you couldn't help but smile along. She walked the walk. Giving so selflessly her time, her talent and her treasures to the world. She was fearlessly loyal to friends and family, and tirelessly worked to heal others' grief and pain, and help people through the moments of sadness. I only hope that your entire family can move through this horribly unfair and tragic loss into a place of love and light in remembering your beloved Mimi.

My brother was in Mark's class, and I had the joy of knowing Mimi because of St. Joseph's. When my Mom passed, Mimi was there to help us every step of the way. I was blessed to have known her.

Mimi made an incredible impression on me when I first met her- beautiful, smiling, and just a hoot to be around! I didn't know her long, but I found her to be one of the most sweetest, energetic, and helpful people I've ever met. The moment I met her, I knew instantly she was Mark's mom- yes the bright hair, but also her positivity and passion, which she has undoubtedly passed on to her kids.

I met Mimi under the saddest of circumstances, when she gently shepherded our community through the loss of dear friend through her bereavement ministry. I witnessed her inspire, comfort, develop and affirm the faith of the old and very young in the face of great loss. She made real the message of that in dying we are born to eternal life, preserving the dignity of the suffering and comforting the sorrowful. I am blessed to have known her.

When my husband Martin and I lost our son 11 years ago, my husband went outside for a walk. Mimi, who lived across the street, came and walked with him, with her arm around him. She really barely knew us then. That is the generous and loving person she was. A more unique and giving person could not be found. How ironic that her birthday was the same day as our son. She became a good friend to us, and we are shaken, devastated and will miss her very much. Our condolences to her husband Gerry, also a good friend, and their extended family.
