I loved coming home to Michigan and visiting with Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Nelson. He always enjoyed driving us around Tekonsha on the back roads looking at the corn and soybean fields and trying to spot deer. This is a memory I will always cherish. Uncle Nielson was a good Christian man with a big heart. He will be greatly missed.

We met the Shedds several years ago on a trip to Europe. Marilyn and I were by our selves and 3 couples invited us to join them. We became good friends and met with our Michigan friends several times up in Michigan. Nelson was a true gentleman, a fine Christian, and a joy to be around. We will really miss him. Our prayers and condolences are with Eleanor and the family. God bless you all.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

To a friend who knew me before my arrival and settling in Tekonsha in 1989. He assisted me in purchasing my current residence. May his soul watch over his loved ones and be united with them someday. God be with you old friend.

My brother, Dennis, wrote a true statement about Uncle Nelson's service to others. But to both of us he was also a wonderful uncle, always good-natured and ready for any family get together, a great role model as a father and husband, and a very smart man. He was very welcoming to our spouses who also think he was a special guy. We will miss him.

I will remember Uncle Nelson as a man with big hands and a big heart. He served his country, township, and community doing his share or more out of the goodness in his heart. He worked hard for those he loved: his family, friends and the whole community. I consider him an even bigger man because he loved the church and gave so much of himself in quiet Christian service. Loving nephew.
