Pasquale J. Baranello, 86, of Solvay, passed away Saturday May 3, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse to the late Patsy and Angela (Campolieta) Barnello in 1927. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran, serving from 1946-1947. He graduated from LeMoyne College in 1952 with a BS degree in Physics. He was a Quality Control Test Engineer at General Electric for 38 years before retiring in 1990. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and member of the National Rifle Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Scrimale) in 2009, his parents and 2 sisters, Viola (Clare) Myers and Lucy (Joseph) Cappuccilli.
He is survived by 3 children; Dr. Pat (Chris) Baranello, of E. Aurora, Grace (Reno) Ghezzi, of Westvale and Cecilia (Paul) Gukich, of Orchard Park, 7 grandchildren; Lisa (Mike), Nick (Brenda), Elizabeth (Mat), Angela (Jonathan), Michael, Scott and Sarah, 5 great grandchildren; Lucy, Natalie, Laura, Riley and Sienna, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 9, 2014 at 8:45 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, and 9:30 am in St. Cecilia Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
Family and friends may call Thursday May 8, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay, NY 13209.
