Steven Leonard Felix was born on 7/13/1957 to Mark Anthony Felix and Elizabeth Virginia Robertson. He is survived by his 3 sons Leonard Hideo Felix, born 10/31/1975, George Theodore Felix, born 04/02/95 and Eric Lawrence Felix, born 11/01/2001. In a household dominated by boys, he also has 3 grandsons: Joshua, Devin, and Deacon. He was looking forward to the first granddaughter of the family, a granddaughter arriving in September 2014. He is also survived by his beloved wife Mabelinda Cruz Arada. A journey that began on 09/08/1994 would last nearly 20 years and produced two beautiful children and lifetime of memories. Steven is also survived by his full sister Robbi Lynn Chavez and nephew Paul Ross Robertson and grandniece Destiny. He also had brothers and sisters Janice Louise Vignes, Stan Louis Vignes, Mark Anthony Felix Jr, Yolanda Russell, and Sandra Guerrero. Throughout Steven's life he always showed an interest in History. If there was any question about a historical event, Steven was the one to turn to for the answer. Being the historical buff Steven was, this quote by John F Kennedy seems fit. "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." His passion was to help others, and children have always had a soft spot in his heart. In his heart he has adopted a lot of teenagers who needed his guidance. He always kept toys in his bag to give out whenever he sees a crying child or a sick child at the hospital.
As we gather here today. We are faced with an array of emotions. As humans it is only natural to mourn when a life is lost. It is only natural to tap into our memory bank and try to recall, or re-live every moment that was shared amongst that individual and ourselves. As we begin to search for those moments or events we shared with our loved one. Whether it be your husband or wife, father or mother, brother or sister, uncle or aunt, or simply just a friend. Remember, even though today is the day we all get to say our good byes to our loved one. The memories that we are reminded of, continue to live on. They live within each and everyone one of us. Though Steven may not be here physically, his spirit lives on. His spirit lives with each and every one of us. Steven's presence in our lives from this point on is based off the memories that we were able share with him. If we are able to embrace those memories and allow them to be our strength when we are feeling weak. Allow them to be the reason we smile when we want to cry. Allow them to comfort us when we are in distress. Allow them to remind us even though we cannot physically reach out and touch him, he will ALWAYS be alive within each and every one of us as we carry those memories throughout the time we have remaining on this earth.
