Our beloved "Puppa", William R. Padovese Sr., 87, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on February 23, 2014. Bill was born December 19, 1926 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Jenny and Arturo Padovese.
Bill entered the Air Force in 1941 and returned to Pennsylvania in 1946 to marry the love of his life Norma Jane DeShong on June 28, 1947. Bill completed his schooling when returning from the service and received his High School diploma in 1948. He then entered the Detroit Engineering Institute where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill held many positions in life including being a police officer in Phoenix, Arizona. Bill retired as a Chief Engineer in the hotel industry in Las Vegas.
Bill was devoted to his family and he shared many experiences with his children and grandchildren. Bill loved all things sports and instilled the love of athletics in his children. If it was a Friday night football game or a Little League baseball game he was in attendance rooting on his children or grandchildren. Bill loved Running with the Rebels and traveled to many games with his family and friends.
Bill shared with his family his love of nature by building a cabin in the mountains of Utah which many memories were made for his family. He enjoyed cooking and gardening, always trying to make those tomatoes grow in the desert heat.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jane.
Bill is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Jill Padovese Jr., David and Cheri Padovese, Ricky and Tina Padovese, and his daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Allan Carter as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

My Dearest Ones
Give yourself a lot of space. When you lose someone you love so much, parts of you go crazy. Your emotions go on a roller coaster. Let them go crazy. cry when you need to cry, laugh when you share a funny memory. Its ok to cry in the grocery store when you pass your loved ones favorite food.
Bill Padovese was more than a brother-in-law to me, I was 4 yrs. old when he married my sister Norma Jane, he was almost a second Dad, he would put me on his shoulders and take me with them always running off to football games,
parades, Grand Openings to get free food, Sunday dinners at his family's home, everyone was always expected to show up. Yum! He made it seem like he always wanted me around.
When I had children I always called him Uncle Bill to teach my kids respect for their relatives. He seem to love to be called Uncle Bill. He always treated my children like he did me. Inviting them to spend some summer time with he and Aunt Norma, again running off with them to deliver newspapers etc.
This man was so unselfish, loving, kind and never judge-mental. When you are still, listen, you will always hear him leading you through your life. Your family and friends will also see you through. May God give you strength to see you through.
I Love You,
Aunt Peggy
