Frances Hope Armbruster, age 80, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on February 14, 2012 in her home. Frances was born in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence and Janice Slemp. She married Edwin (Buddy) Armbruster on September 29, 1951.
She graduated from Clay High School and attended secretarial school. She loved being a housewife and worked as a retail manager following her husband's death. She volunteered at St. Luke's and was a crossing guard for many years for Fort Meigs School and remembered "her" children with treats on their birthday. She was always ready with a smile and made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed old movies and reading mysteries, but her biggest passion in life was her family. She especially enjoyed having her family together; birthday's, holiday's and special occasions were never forgotten (and with a gentle reminder she made sure no one forgot upcoming important dates.) She treasured going out to breakfast with her life long friends, Betty and Midge, on a weekly basis. She was a long time member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Cheatham; her four children, Peggy (Greg) Sova, Ed (Bobby) Armbruster, Joy (Frank) Solomon, and Randy (Christine) Armbruster; seven grandchildren Brett (Desiree) Sova, Lauren Sova, Janiece Armbruster, Caroline Armbruster, Jonathan Solomon, Kevin Armbruster and Ryan Armbruster. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buddy; sisters, Mary and Betty; and brother, Clarence (Dewey).
Friends will be received from 3-8 P.M.on Friday, February 17, 2012 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where a Rosary Service will be at 7:00 P.M.
Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 10 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. in St. Rose Church
with burial in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to St. Rose Church or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Peggy I am so sorry for your loss. I know the kids in the neighbor have missed her at the corner of Heilman and Ft Meigs for the last couple of years. I miss talking to her. At least 3 time a week I would take my Grandson for a walk after work and we would stop and talk to your mom. We talked about you a lot. Funny thing is I had not seen her for years but she remembered me right away. Please take care and know my thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Lorrie Smith

Ed's Mom always had a kind word and smile for us no matter how grubby/sweaty we were from playing ball, working on our various junker cars, or even recovering from hard evenings of partying. All of us TKB reprobates will treasure our memories of her always.

While she clearly loved her Ft. Meigs kids, I, like many other adults, appreciated the smile and wave she offered to drivers who passed by. It was a great way to start a day! God Bless to her family.
