JoAnn Almond passed away on Sunday September 12, 2010 in Shreveport, LA surrounded by family and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday September 16, 2010 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. Billy Pierce, Chaplin, Bossier Parish Sheriff's Dept. officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
JoAnn was born on June 26, 1938 in Delhi, LA and was a graduate of Bossier High School. She worked for the Bossier City Water Department for about forty years and was a member of Airline Baptist Church.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Milton Almond and her father Mack Thornton. She is survived by her three sons, Mike Almond and wife Renea of Bossier City, Clay Almond and wife Terrie of Benton, Wade Almond and wife Jennifer of Tampa, FL, mother, Irma Thornton of Bossier City, sister, Linda Ramsey and husband Allan of Darien, Illinois, grandchildren, Brandi St. Andre and husband Brian, Dustin Almond, Dani Brown and husband Jordan, Ariel Almond, Ricky Almond, Crystal Almond, and Brady Almond, great grandchildren, James David Almond, Jake St. Andre, and Bella Brown.
Pall Bearers will be Johnny Jones, Rudy Hines, Kevin Caughman, Mark Alleman, Ronnie Mercer, and Larry Harrell. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Billy Powell, Bill Gray, Tim Mitchell, Billy Thornton, and Dr. Kaylan Worley.
