Joseph Ahlm Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 25, 2011.

Funeral Services for Joseph "JoDaddy" Ahlm will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Spooner Wesleyan Church (1100 W. Maple St. in Spooner, WI 54801) with Pastor Ronald Gormong officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Church prior to the service. Promptly at 10:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2011 we will be leaving the Dahl Funeral Home at 221 Elm St. in Spooner for a Harley Davidson Motorcycle Coach procession to the Madge Cemetery for the committal service.

Joseph G. "JoDaddy" Ahlm, 54, a resident of Birchwood township, passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2011 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Joe was born on March 19, 1957 in Waukesha, WI to Clarence "Skip" and Sherry (Patsch) Ahlm.

Joe was a larger than life figure who touched everyone he met. His outgoing personality and gregarious nature helped him form many friendships throughout his life. He spent his early years in Waukesha before moving to Amery where he finished high school.

Joe was a graduate of the "School of Hard Knocks". Truly a self made man, he began his career in the plastics business soon after high school. With a keen intellect and astounding business sense, he rose through the ranks to become a Vice-President for ITW and eventually a partner in Vital Plastics of Baldwin, WI. As successful as he was in business, the true measure of the man was the many friendships he formed along the way. He was a mentor, a teacher, a friend and an inspiration to many.

He was an avid outdoorsman from fishing in Wisconsin to hunting in New Mexico. As always, he shared his adventures with family and friends. He loved to ride his Harley and was as comfortable striking up a conversation in his favorite tavern as he was in a corporate boardroom. He was a Life Member of both the NRA and the Safari Club.

His is survived by his wife, Laura of Sarona; children, Jennifer of Eau Claire, WI, Jill of Hopkins, MN, Jamie of Eau Claire, WI, Alexis, Jordan and Ethan of Sarona, WI; brothers, Jeff, Jay, and John; and sister, Marcy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe loved his family more than anything and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Heaven is a much livelier place today.

Many years ago we used to spend some time together with Joe when he was in Amery High School. Please know that God loves you all just as he does Joe.
