Keith Beaver Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 27, 2011.

The Reverend Keith W. Beaver went to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved and served, on September 23, 2011, surrounded by his loved ones.

Keith William Beaver was born October 6, 1930 in Oconomowoc, WI the son of Emmanuel and Elaine (Rush) Beaver. He moved to Milwaukee, WI at the age of 12 and was confirmed there at Pentecost Lutheran church. He later graduated from Washington High School. In 1953 he graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and entered Northwestern Lutheran Seminary from which he graduated in June of 1956. On June 25, 1956 Keith was joined in marriage to Mary Alice Skay and accepted his first call to a mission congregation, King of Glory Lutheran Church, in Milwaukee, WI. Keith was ordained in Milwaukee on July 8, 1956 and served there for eight years. In October of 1964 Keith accepted a call from a newly organized congregation, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Keith served this church for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. Keith and Mary moved to Barnes, WI where he continued to serve the Lord doing interim ministry and preaching in numerous area churches, his last service being at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iron River, WI on September 4, 2011. Throughout his life Keith enjoyed athletics and ran five marathons and several triathlons including an Iron Man competition. Keith also enjoyed preaching, fishing, hunting, cheering for the Packers, and traveling with Mary in his little Scamp trailer. Most of all Keith loved being Grandpa, (Boompa) and playing with his six grandsons.

Keith is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; three children, Kurt (Cindy) of Rosemont, MN; Christine (Eric) Neff of Barnes, WI; Karl (Jackie) of Rochester, MN; six grandsons whom he felt privileged to have personally baptized: Stephen, Matthew, Andrew, Joshua, Kaleb and Christian. He is also survived by five nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean Ager.

We would like to express our sympathy to Pastor Beaver's family. We truly enjoyed the time that he spent in Iron River being our interim pastor. We were so lucky to have had him preach on Sept. 4th at our church. We feel that he is not only our Pastor but a good friend as well. God Bless all of you.

Pastor Beaver was such a warm and caring person. He visited our home following the death of our pet dog and gave such a wonderful and meaningful short service. Following, he needed to stay and discuss how we liked our SCAMP camper, as he loved to camp!! We really loved that!
God Bless your family at this time.
