Linda Reveles Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 10, 2009.

Linda, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, has left us on Dec. 9, 2009 surrounded by her loving family and friends. After fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer, she has gone to a better place with our Lord, where there is peace and no suffering.

She was the foundation for all of her family and friends. Linda was the person that all would seek for advice and comfort, yet she never imposed her suffering to anyone. Private, yet embracing to anyone that needed comfort, she was one of the few and beautiful souls that would always give her heart to you. Her intuition and wisdom was always the truth, like it or not, she always spoke from the heart.

Linda was born May 10, 1949 in Martinez, Calif. to Manuel and Connie Chaigres. The family moved to Oxnard where she met and married her high school sweetheart Frank, son of Joe and Rose Reveles, in 1966.

Linda will always be remembered for her devotion to her husband, son, daughter, grandchildren and family. She will be remembered for putting the needs of others before her own. Her love, caring, and generosity was always felt at her home. Everyone was welcomed at "Frank and Lin's." We will miss our Linda. Our hearts are heavy and we will mourn, but let's remember her and embrace the good times. She would want and expect everyone to do so. Listening to oldies while barbecuing anything, staying home, watching movies and going shopping for the grandkids. She loved her seafood and she loved dancing with the love of her life, Frank.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Chaigres.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 43 precious years, Frank; son, Frankie (Mercy); daughter, Julie; grandsons, Frankie, Randy, and Ricky; mother, Connie; sisters, Rose, Nancy, Angela (Chuck); in-laws, Joe and Rose; brother-in-law, Steve (Elizabeth), Sammy and sister-in-law, Monica, and numerous relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the name of Linda Reveles to the Breast Cancer Society.

The family expresses gratitude to all the doctors and staff, and especially the Livingston Memorial Hospice, for all their assistance and kindness during these trying times.

We especially want to share our love and gratitude to Julie, beloved daughter and Linda's best friend. We love you forever, Lin!

"When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, you mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess how much you've given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust, that it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near, And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home.'"

A Rosary will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at James A. Reardon-Payton Mortuary in Oxnard, and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Santa Clara Church in Oxnard. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus from 12 to 3:30 p.m.
