Matthias A. “Mots” Arnt Sr., 82 of Lebanon died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in his residence. He was the husband of Lilian Fereday Arnt. He was born in Lebanon on March 15, 1927, son of the late George and Elizabeth Kola Arnt. He retired from the former Quaker Alloy in Myerstown. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy serving as a Seabee during WWII, where he was awarded the Victory Medal. He was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia, Washington Fire Co., Lebanon VFW and the Navy Club. He enjoyed hunting, loved the beach, watching the American Movie Classics and was an avid sports fan particularly the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State. He also was a faithful volunteer blood donor. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Matthias A. “Mots” Arnt Jr. and wife Wanda, Lebanon; Roberta wife of Alex Henderson, England; Tina wife of Arden Snook Sr., Lebanon; Trudy wife of Douglas Stalnecker, Lebanon; Anita wife of Walter Smith, Lebanon; Debbie Heilman, Lebanon; Terrance Arnt, Lebanon; Jason Arnt and wife Louisa, Virginia; twenty-three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 7 sisters and close friend Johnny Whitman. He was preceded in death by his grandson SSgt. Mathias A. Arnt III, USAF; 4 brothers; 3 sisters. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 5, 2009 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
