Mrs. Mildred "Pat" Mckneely, age 98 of LaGrange, Georgia formerly of Griffin, Georgia, died Friday June 10, 2011, in Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Mckneely was born November 14, 1912, in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. She was the daughter of the late Roy W. Boston and late Grace Williamson. Mrs. Mckneely graduated from West Denver High School and attended Colorado State Teachers College in Greenley, Colorado. She moved to Griffin, Georgia in 1946, after her marriage of A.L. Mckneely, Sr. She earned her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education at Tift College. Mrs. Mckneely taught fifteen years, in the Griffin-Spalding County School System; finishing her career at Jackson Road Elementary School. She was named teacher of the year for the Griffin-Spalding County School System for 1973-1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Griffin, Georgia.
Mrs. Mckneely was preceded in death by her husband A. L. Mckneely, Sr., a sister, Fern Elizabeth Farr and a stepson, A.L. "Gus" Mckneely, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Thurston Garrard of LaGrange, Georgia; five grandchildren, Laura G. Fuller and husband John of LaGrange, Georgia, Jeffrey Garrard and wife Cindy of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Bob Mckneely and wife Ashley of Griffin, Georgia, Dawn Gantt and husband Eric of Summerville, South Carolina, and Michael Mckneely of Austin, Texas; Five great grandchildren, Crawford, Dixon and Channing Fuller and Maci and Morgan Mckneely as well as a beloved niece and husband, Jane and Nelson Italiano.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred "Pat" Mckneely, will be conducted on Monday June 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Lobello will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday morning one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 1401 Maple Drive, Griffin, Georgia, 30224 in memory of Mrs. Mckneely.

Mrs. McKneely was my third grad teacher in the 60's at East Griffin Elementary. She made learning so much fun, she inspired me to become a teacher. I have thought of her often over the years. She was truly a beautiful soul.

Mrs. Mckneely was my 3rd. grade teacher at East griffin school in 1965,I'm 53yrs. old and still have fond memories of her.For yrs and yrs.when I would see her out she would always hug me and ask how things in my life were going.I just want the family to know she was one of nicest and kindest ladies I have known.I am sorry to hear of your loss.
