Paulina Asmis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 24, 2013.

Our beloved mother, Paulina (Chavez) Asmis went to be with our Lord January 22, 2013 after a long battle with illness. She was born June 22, 1934 in Cuahtemoc, Coahuila, Mexico and later resided in Torreon, Juarez, and finally El Paso, where she resided since 1956. She was a homemaker throughout most of her life. She worked at Azar Nut Company in the late 1970's. She was a loving, nurturing mother and grandmother to her three children, three grandchildren, and her beloved dog Bubbles. She had a tremendous vitality and spark for life; her humor and laughter touched the lives of everyone. She enjoyed dancing and traveling, Las Vegas being one of her most favorite places. Our mother is preceded in death by her parents, Juana Davila and Rosario Chavez, sisters Amalia, Lucia, Maria, and Elisa Chavez Faya. She is survived by our dad, her dedicated best friend, Bertram Asmis, Sr., her children, Bertram Asmis, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; Caesar Asmis (Mireya), and Jessica Carvajal (William) of El Paso, TX, and three grandchildren; William Erik Carvajal, Caesar Asmis, Jr., and Natalie Asmis.
Deepest appreciation goes out to the entire Bienvivir Senior Health staff for all the attentive care they provided during the last few years. Special thanks and love to Sofia and Elia, her caregivers who immersed their love and assistance to our mother. Vigil/rosary will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Harding Orr and McDaniel Funeral Home,
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, American Diabetes Association, or West Texas Chapter of Alzheimer's Association.
