Scott was born June 2, 1947 in Wheatfield Township, MI and passed away September 22, 2012 at the age of 65.
Scott is survived by his wife, Karen, of 37 years; son, Frank (Anna); and daughter, Sarah (Mark Hammond) Hitchcock. He was preceded in death by his dad, Lyman Hitchcock; nephew, Nick Hitchcock; and brother-in-law, Wayne Hull. Scotty farmed all his life with his dad, Lyman; brothers, Craig and Mark; son, Frank; nephews, Nick, Jason, Travis, Rocky, and Sam. His passion was planting corn and combining. He loved driving around looking at crops with his wife, Karen, and his dog, Major. His hobbies were riding motorcycles with his son, family, and friends, mowing roadsides, and cutting trees down around his fields. Scotty enjoyed at the end of harvest and planting work, where friends and family would join together at the shop to shoot the s___! He was always figuring a way to “supe” up the tractors, trucks, and motorcycles to get more power out of them. He took pride in keeping the farm clean and well kept and the machinery waxed and in the barn. But most of all, Scotty was very proud of his family and friends and was always willing to help them, no matter what! A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Williamston Free Methodist Church, 4400 N. Williamston Rd., Williamston, with Rev. Douglas Bradshaw officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Church.
