10 years ago I met an angel… that angel was Mr Boyd. Mr Boyd was extremely instrumental in helping me financially throughout college. At times it seemed he cared more about paying for my college than I did, whether it was through helping me with scholarships, putting shoes and clothes on my back, paying a cell phone bill or cosigning for my first dependable car, he was there. And if that wasn’t enough, Mr. Boyd opened his doors to me with his spare bedroom between semesters while I was in school. Now through personal reflection and a master’s degree later I can certainly say I don’t know what I would have done without Mr. Boyd… he was like a parent I never really had. This man was truly a good person and available to help anyone. The countless stories I have heard from current and former patients are endless of him helping others, (things like going on his day off and opening up the pharmacy just to get someone’s medicine filled). Mr. Boyd will be certainly missed and never forgotten and may God Bless me to be half the man he was!

I have known Bill for over 40 years, all that time he has been a great friend to me. I will miss him so very much, but he is probably working in god's garden already, planting more flowers I'm sure. You are truly one of the good guys. Love you lots. Frances Sutton

I am thankful that Bill used his singleness for the glory of God and the good of others. I am a recipient of his ministry. Bill was one of my junior high Sunday school teachers. Every time I returned to Leesville, I would stop by the drug store and say, "I just wanted to say hey to my Sunday school teacher." When I moved to LSU as a freshman, Bill loaded all my stuff in the back of his truck and drove it down. I can also remember fun nights of games, laughter, and food with Bill at our house. I will miss stopping by the drugstore saying hey and sharing a hug. I will miss the friendship and care of someone who never stopped being my Sunday school teacher. But because of Christ's victory over the grave, I will only miss Bill for a short time. For today he lives and is with Christ and I look forward to seeing his smile and hearing his laugh again. Thank you Bill for not wasting your life. Thank you for living for God's glory and the good of others.

Bill had been a great friend to the Bailes' family long before I married Thad. He was as much a part of any hoilday gathering as any family member. When Polly was old enough to know who he was she called him "Bud",....she just could not seem to remember his name. He thought is was so funny, and it just stuck. When she visited him last summer to introduce him to Josh, he told me she still came in and called him Bud. He and Thad were also great babysitters, the 3 of them could sleep all day if they needed to. We will miss Bud, downtown will never be the same. Love, Robbie and Polly

Bill was a friend to all he met. I live in Baton Rouge, but saw Bill often when I would go with my mother, Ruby Legg, to pick up her precriptions. My mother loved Bill like a son and enjoyed cooking for him. I am certain they are "catching up" on the streets of gold with no need for medication!!! Bill will certainly be missed by the whole Leesville community. What a good man!!

Bill was a wonderful, gentle, loving human being who lived for, and loved, his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all his heart. He now rests peacefully and is enjoying the glories of Heaven with his family and many friends. Even though our hearts are saddened by his departure, I think Bill would want us to remember this --"Why weep for a soul set free." We will always love you, Bill.

Our hearts are heavy with yours in the loss of Bill. He has been a dear friend to our family for many years. He was a faithful member of Dad's choir, a caring deacon and a wonderful pharmacist. I am so thankful to have been one of the people whose life Bill touched. I can't wait to see him again some day. We so much wish we could've have been there for his service but that is the down side to being so far from Leesville now. Our prayers are with you during this difficult
time.
With love and prayers,
Denise (Williams) Campbell and Pat Williams

God bless Mr. Boyd, and may God bless his family at this time of sorrow. He had such a warm and caring smile whenever my family saw him at the pharmacy. Always made you feel so much better just to see him behind the counter. Thank you for all the wonderful caring years of service to our community.

ARLENE TERRELL

Bill was a true friend. I have known Bill since the early "Third St." Days in Leesville when I began my career w/ The Vernon Bank. Truly a kind and compassionate man. He always took the time to ask about my Dad and when Dad (T C Terrell) was able to go in the the Drug Store in Person enjoyed a great visit.

Most recently, we had spoke of his upcoming retirement and how he could not fish from the boat any longer. I know if there is a "fishing spot" in Heaven He is There!

We shall surely miss his smiling face in Downtown Leesville and the entire Leesville/Vernon Parish Area.

God Bless your family!!

When my family lived in Leesville from 1986-1993, Bill was a very important part of the life of our church. He led Bible studies with many of the single soldiers and his home was always open to them and many more. When my family moved over 200 miles away to another church he showed up one Sunday morning and was laughing when I walked in the sactuary at the shocked look on my face. That meant so much to our family that he took the time to do that. I could go on and on......He was incredible man who left a great legacy. Thank God we will see Bill again.

Charles "Bubba" Underwood

I worked with Bill when I was in high school and he taught me how to live a decent life and to always let God be in control of it. He has been my family's pharmacist for the past 30 years and he would go over and above what was required of him to make sure we were educated about the percriptions and other things. He loved my wife and kids and they loved him. He was very special to our family and we will miss him immensely. Phoenix Drug Store will never be the same. Bill can't be replaced because there will never be another Mr. Bill. We Love and Miss You! Bubba, Lanette, Jessica, and Jacob, Underwood
