Adrienne Ann Astala,
Passed away in Auburn, Washington on June 28, 2011. She was born April 29, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert Arvid and Jane Allen Astala who preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings, Albert A. Astala, Jr., Oscoda, Michigan; Arthur A. Astala, Auburn, Washington; Ace A. Astala, Houston, Texas; Arleen A. Astala, Las Vegas, Nevada; Adel A. Astala, Oscoda, Michigan; Viola A. Astala, Oscoda, Michigan; and Todd Astala, Auburn, Washington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Adrienne was a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary Unity 3735 and had served as President. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 274, the 8/40 Salon 300, and La Societe de Femme Cabane 669. She was an accomplished painter, published poet, green-thumbed gardner, devoted cat-lover, and an avid reader. For the last decade she was a dedicated caregiver for her youngest brother, Todd.
