Brenda Kay Highfield, 59, parted from this life peacefully May 1, 2012 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Ms. Highfield was born in Maysville on August 22, 1952. She was a graduate of Tollesboro High School and a nurse at Eagle Creek Nursing Home where she was a faithful, hardworking employee for 28 years. She is survived by her loving child, son Michael and his wife Michelle along with her two grandchildren, Taylor and Blaine who were her pride, joy, and adoration. Brenda is also survived by her parents,Elmo and Clarine Highfield and 2 brothers Larry Highfield (Ruby) and John Highfield(Debbie) along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her work family. Services for Brenda Highfield will be Saturday May 5 at 11 a.m. at the Barbour & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Beirley officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 4 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. I was out of town and unable to attend the visitation and funeral, but I thought of her so much during these past few days. I enjoyed seeing her at our class reunion a couple of years ago,and would never have dreamed she would be gone so quickly. I am so proud of all that she has accomplished in her short life, as I know her family must be. Beverly Hord Cooper

" I am so sorry for your loss. Im still in shock and cant get over the fact that when I walk into work I will not see her smiling face,She was a joy to work with and the stories of her grandkids we will never forget. She lived for those kids and loved being with them.
It is different at work with out her being there after 28 years you get used to seeing her. I have only worked with her for 3.5 years and i will not get use to her not being with us we are close employees we are family we have lost one of our own.
I want her family to know that they had one of the best daughters and that she loved her family with all her heart and would do anything for them.
IM SORRY,
co-worker Leah Little
