Brittany Nicole Burnette, 24, of Marion, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. Born on December 18, 1988 in McDowell County, she is the daughter of Barbara Nell Burnette Smith.
Brittany was a very special child who was loved by everyone and loved everybody. She was known by her "smile" and her love for life.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gilmer "Red" Burnette and her very special great-grandfather, Joe Wiseman. Brittany is survived by her mother, Barbara Nell Burnette Smith of WV; sisters, Samantha Burnette and Tiffany Burnett, both of Marion; brother, Waylon Smith of WV; very special maternal grandparents "Mamaw & Papa", Ronnie and Kathy Haney of Marion; two nephews, Elijah and Bryson Smith; special aunts, Brenda Jennings of Glenville, NC and Patti Mahan of Marion; several other special aunts and uncles; great-aunt, Clara Biddix of Marion; and a number of cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will follow the service at Hicks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
