Services for Cleo Christine Wylie Armbruster, 87, of Waco will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors in Waco. Chaplain Curtis Holland will officiate. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Live Oak Cemetery in Buda, TX. Christine died Friday, June 22nd at her home in Waco. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, June 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Connally Compton.
Christine Wylie was born December 24, 1924 in Austin, Texas to George Daniel Wylie and Ida Anne Baker Wylie. She was an only child. She married Walter Armbruster June 17, 1950 in Austin, TX at First Street Christian Church. He preceded her in death October 10, 1985. During their marriage they lived in Austin and moved to Waco in 1969. She was employed as a Secretary at American Income Life for more than 20 years. Survivors include three sons; Rickey Armbruster and wife Jan of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Terry Armbruster and wife Karen of Lorena, Ritchie Armbruster and wife Debi of Austin, one daughter; Susan Lechner of Waco; and three grandchildren; Daniel Armbruster, Amanda Avants, and Tyler Armbruster.
Pallbearers are Sonny Canady, Wink Wilson, Kenneth Fleischhauer, Matthew Fleischhauer and Daniel Armbruster, and honorary pallbearer, Tyler Armbruster.
A wonderful mother and loving grandmother, Christine was one of the most selfless people, beautiful on the inside and out. She will be missed and remembered fondly. She was a true homemaker, an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing slot machines with her friends.
The family would like to specially thank Brandi, Misty and Jessica with Bluebonnet Hospice for their devoted care.
