He was born on January 26, 1924, in Gardner, MA. He spent his childhood years in Fitzwilliam with his parents Bill and Ann (LaPlante) Cooper.
Mr Beauodoin joined the US Navy in 1941 and served in WW II, including the Battle at Midway.
After the Navy, he moved to Troy where he lived for the next 60 plus years.
Mr. Beaudoin worked for Troy Mills for 27 years and then went to work for Kingsbury Corporation for the next 17 years before retiring. After retirement, he worked at the Troy Recycling Center part time. He also made and sold bird houses and feeders.
He was a member of the VFW Fitzwilliam Post 10289.
Mr Beaudoin enjoyed outdoor activities, including watching little league games, camping, going to the beach, lake trout fishing at Squam Lake, salmon fishing in Alaska as well as archery hunting. Earlier he also enjoyed square dancing and flying single engine airplanes.
He enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was woodworking, making and driving racing hydro racing boats or making and flying remote control airplanes.
Mr. Beaudoin is survived by his two sons Barry Beaudoin of Troy and Brad Beaudoin also of Troy; his grandson Stacey Tyler Beaudoin and great grandson Landen Tyler Beaudoin, both of Alaska; his sister Bertha Holman of Fitzwilliam; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Beaudoin’s wife, Gloria Beaudoin, died in 1984.
Services for Mr. Beaudoin will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2011, 10:00 AM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm also at the funeral home.
