Helen Tobin Griffin, age 93, entered into eternal life on November 5, 2012. Beloved wife of Steve P. Griffin for seventy-two years. Loving mother of Helen Diane Hotstream, Darryl G. Garner and Janice G. Nick. Daughter of the late Fernanda Cure and Peter Tobin. Sister of the late Hilda Tobin and John Peter Tobin, Sr. Beloved grandmother of Elizabeth H. Mire, Michael Hotstream, Chris Garner, Wendy G. Beaver, Tammy N. Labourdette, Julie N. Santiago and Steven Nick. Great-grandmother of Marcus Garner, Hope Beaver, Brianna Nick, Samantha and Emma Santiago and Katie and Gabby Nick.

In her younger years she was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Angels Church
Where she served as President of the St. Ann Society and Girl Scout leader. Later,
Living in New Orleans East she was a member of Senior Friends, the Fifty-Plus Club
And the Gentilly Jubilee Square Dancers. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti
Parish until Hurricane Katrina. Helen was a creative seamstress, and enjoyed art,
music and all types of dance. She was an avid reader of the daily newspaper and most
recently enjoyed good books. She was amused by the entertaining antics of her
great-grandchildren who could always bring a smile to her face. She also enjoyed
Spirited conversations about her faith, her family's genealogy and her teen-age years
when she danced at the Saenger Theater on Canal Street. She has been a resident of
Lacombe for the past seven years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass to be celebrated by Reverend Kyle Dave at Jacob Schoen & SonFuneral Home, 3827 Canal Street New Orleans, LA on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow in St. Patrick No. 1 Cemetery.
