My days with the Harahan Police Department started with my introduction to Henry Blanco back in 1989. Henry was my supervisor and field training officer. It didn't take long for our relationship to develop into a friendship that has lasted over 20 years. I can tell you Henry was devoted to serving the people of Harahan. Henry taught me so much about being an honest and respected man. Today I lost a true friend, but I am so thankful for having the opportunity to know Henry. He will continue to be with me in my heart and I have such great memories.
The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men, the conviction and the will to carry on. —Walter Lippman. Henry has certainly done this to me. My prayers are with Cindy and her family during this time.
Henry Blanco I will miss you!! Rest in Peace my friend.

To my Uncle Henry, I'm so lucky to have had a great uncle. To be your nephew was such an honor. I wish we could have made a long road trip together on our bikes, but unfortunatly Katrina blew my family to another state. I will miss you and will always keep you as a inspiration in my life.
