BIELAK, John Benjamin
December 22, 1919 - January 8, 2012 - Lovingly Remembered
Our dearest Father, John, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side in his 93rd year at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. Adored by his precious Daughters Laraine, Joanie and Jan; Sons Larry and Joseph; Grandchildren Laurie (Roger), Tina (Byron), Jerry (Carrie), Joe (Mary), Aaron (Heather), Sheri (Mike). He was a proud "Poppy" to Great-Granchildren Tyler, Mikayla, Ryan, Liam, Christopher, Keaton, Dayla, Savana, Kristi-Anne and Tristan. Predeceased by the "everlasting love of his life" and our angel momma, Stephanie Bielak (Stricker), and only sister, Stella, first born daughter dearest Carolyn and cherished son-in-law, Dr. Alex Cunningham. Our dad will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Eve Zelanis and Rose Rudaniecki. He was previously employed as a foreman at Studebaker and retired from Stelco after 26 years of excellent service in production scheduling. We will celebrate our Dad's life ("Johnny B") with all the wonderful memories experienced over all these incredible years. He was a genuine caring and supportive man and a great provider to his family. His steady presence and invaluable guidance and constant support enriched all our lives. Dad's faith was strong and he rarely missed attending Sunday services at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Our Dad possessed an insatiable love of the "Big Band Era" and all music in general. He took immense pleasure inviting neighbours and friends in to share many a musical afternoon with him ie. "Jolson Sings Again". A 10-pin bowling enthusiast and senior "champion" enjoyed weekly games with his teammates at the Skyway until his 90th year. His heartfelt lifelong support was given to many charitable organizations and therefore, in lieu of flowers, our family would appreciate a donation to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at the Cresmount Funeral Chapel at 1020 Upper James in Hamilton on Tuesday, January 10th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1694 Upper James at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Caledonia Cemetery and following, family and friends are welcome to join us for refreshments at the Cresmount Funeral Chapel.

Joanie my heart aches for what you must be going through right now. He was a lovely man, he had one of the most exquisite musical ears I've ever met and he had a wonderful life lived with the most wonderful family a man could have. May you all find consolation in each other, in your memories and in your shared love.
Hugh and Marion Fraser, Millgrove.
