June Mynatt Gold - SAVANNAH - June Mynatt Gold, 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family. June was a native of Pooler, Georgia but lived in Savannah, Georgia most of her life with her husband and two daughters. She graduated from Commercial High and worked as a bank teller at Industrial Saving and Loan downtown. She also worked at Jeffries Dress Shop. June and her family were avid members of Cokesbury Methodist Church where she and her husband kept the nursery, her favorite job. She dearly loved her little children. She loved to read, play the piano, and listen to the radio and dance. She also enjoyed a good game of rummy with her better half. She was loved by everyone and never met a stranger. June is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Herman Frederick Gold, Jr., a baby daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olin P. Hardy, and a sister, Bette Brandt. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Katherine Sikes (Raymond), Laura Lynn Taber (Shawn), a grandson, Raymond Bryan Sikes, and a granddaughter, Shannon Marie Hunter, all from Savannah. Also a brother, Olin P. Hardy, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park on Wheaton St. Please sign our online registry at www.fairhavenfuneralhome.net.
