Kenneth O. Kohn, 76, a lifelong resident of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Golden Harbor.
He was born on July 21, 1936 to Loyal and Viola (Samse) Kohn.
Ken was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
He attended Sheboygan Grade School and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1954. After graduation Kenneth enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
Ken was previously married to Constance Larson.
Kenneth was a City of Sheboygan Police Officer for several years, and also worked at Polarware, Ametek, Knights of Columbus and other Sheboygan area businesses.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying fishing on Lake Michigan and many trips up north and to Canada with friends, his son, and grandsons. Ken was a good cook and enjoyed time spent tending his garden and having friends and family over for his "wild game feeds".
Kenneth was a member of the Sheboygan Outboard Club and bowled in many leagues, and also served as Secretary of the Sheboygan Bowling Association.
Ken is survived by his son, Kenneth "Mike" Kohn; two grandsons, Christopher (special friend, Ashley) Kohn and Peter Dobrzynski; great-grandchild, Austin Kohn; two sisters, Mary Kuhfuss and Sharon Knopp; special friends, Lee and Dee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his dear friend and companion for many years, Char Nelson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Sheboygan Outboard Club in Sheboygan. Details for the Celebration of Life will be posted at the Outboard Club on Labor Day.
In lieu of flowers, funds are being accepted towards a memorial park bench.
Ken's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Golden Harbor, in particular Linda and Dawn, and Grace Hospice for the care and compassion shown to him.
