On April 11, 2011 at Sibley Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness, Leonard Abel, devoted husband of June Abel, loving father and grandfather, passed. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Shalom Synagogue, 8401 Grubb Road, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Interment to follow at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service through Thursday evening at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation, (202) 537-4257, or Temple Shalom, 8401 Grubb Road, Chevy Chase MD 20815.
