My Papa was the best grandfather a girl could ever ask for. He was always there for me. I remember when I broke my arm he was there with me at the hospital and stayed the night in the hospital room with me, as he slept in a chair all night. Then we shared my french toast, sausage, and eggs breakfast. We use to have watermelon eating contests in the summers together from his garden and he taught me how to shuck corn, snap beans, pop pea pods open, and picking plums and figs from the trees by the house. One of the best times i remember was sitting on the porch of the old house together cracking pecans and eating them from his pecan tree. The only time we would eat out would be at Cici's pizza and I came to love his favorite pizza that was spinach and cheese with a white garlic sauce on thin crust. The most memorable moments was going fishing with my Papa, taking the boat out to the lake down from his house and him teaching me to fish from the pond in the backyard of his house. He taught me how to gut, fillet, and fry fish. To this day I still use everything that he has taught me. I am so happy I got to spend almost a week with him with my children ( his great-grand children). I have so many more memories but will keep them to share with my children and one day grand children. I know that I treasured the time I got with him and wish I lived closer. I thank God everyday that he got to be my Papa. I will cherish every moment we had together. I will always have you in my heart and I will always love you Papa. See you one day again in heaven. I am glad you are not suffering anymore even if I am without you here. ❤
