Sherry Shirley,
I know it's been a hard, hard week. I agonize with you over what you had to endure alongside Ray during his ordeals. Your suffering continues, but his doesn't. Never forget he's healed...his race is run...he'll never hurt again!
Shirley, my most fervent prayer is that you will hurt a little less each day and can fixate more and more on the good times. I hope and pray that things will just suddenly pop into your mind of a forgotten happy occasion!
Ray touched a lot of people...and I believe he left big footprints all over most everyone's lives.
Tiny and I loved him very much...we love you and your family and stand ready to do anything we possibly can for you and them...Tiny says give Sam a big hug.
I'm honored Ray was my friend...and I know you know that.

I knew Maj. Barlowe for many years while serving as a 1st Responder in the City of Morganton. He was a fine public servant and an asset to the Morganton Department of Public Safety. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Major Barlowe, and I am saddened by the news of his loss.
