Rita was a very dear friend and colleague of mine for many years in Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. We shared many laughs, smiles, and tears over the year and she will be missed. I'm sure she's already planning a reorganization in heaven :) Rest in peace dear Rita.

Rita was a colleague and close friend. Whether in her nursing uniform with cap, Air Force dress blues or civilian clothes she exhibited confidence, professionalism and genuine sincerity. She had a definite, but subdued, sense of humor. She was affectionately referred to as “ the colonel” in the Emergency Department at Crouse Hospital relaying the respect and confidence the staff had in her. She will be fondly remembered.

I am sure that God has welcomed Rita into his heavenly kingdom and she is organizing the troops there. I learned a lot from her and the patients were always cared for well under her watch. She is missed.

I will never forget the first time I met Rita! She shed warmth, professionalism, humor and respect! It was a pleasure to work with such a distinguished professional, as a young man, all those years ago! THANKS for showing me how it's done, lessons I carry to this day!
