Scot "Scooter" Burich, age 66, returned to our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 14, 2014. He was born November 21, 1947, the son of the late Arthur and Bertyl (Hamerla) Burich. Scooter attended St. Peter Clever Catholic School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1966. He was a lifelong resident of Sheboygan. Scooter worked for Kohler Company for over 30 years until retirement. Scooter's heart was always so full of love for his friends. Being an only child, he considered them his family of brothers. His beloved pets gave him great joy and entertainment as well as an abundance of love.
Scooter is lovingly survived by his partner of over 20 years, Marilyn Jarvis of Sheboygan Falls; his beloved feline friends: Tazz and Slipper; and many devoted friends.
Marilyn would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the neighbors and friends who throughout the years have always been there for him.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Scooter will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at St. Peter Clever Catholic Church, 1444 S. 11th Street, Sheboygan, with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Friends will be received for visitation at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of mass. The committal ceremony will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Scooter's name.

Living so far away from the family I heard about Scot's passing from my mother Sharon. I remember seeing him a lot when I was a young and it is always sad to hear about family member leaving us. I wish I could have left my condolences sooner.

Hi;
My name is Jim Strigel. I just heard about Scot. I grew up with Scot on south 16th street in Sheboygan. He lived up the street from me. From when we were about 5 to 15 we were best friends and played together most every day. We used to "play priest" and we each had an altar in our homes. Mine was in the basement and Scots' was in his bedroom. When I was over to his house and his parents were away we would pool our money and have a pizza delivered and then watch horror movies on T.V. We normally weren't allowed to watch horror movies, so this was our little secret and I don't think our parents ever found out. We also had a wiffle ball base ball league in the neighborhood. There were 4 teams. Each team had a single player. They were my brother Bob(who died last April), me, Scot, and another neighbor, Fred(Butch) Heiman, We each had a "field" in our back yards. We went ice skating at Roosevelt park together, went to grade school at St. Petes together, walked home from school together and just played and grew up together. Scot had a paper route, and for some reason (which I can't remember), had to give it up. He selected me to take over his route. Paper routes were very hard to come by in those days, and I always appreciated that he selected me to take over his route. One Christmas we both got new bikes, and his was better than mine. I was so jealous. Over the years Scot and I lost touch, especially when I moved out of town in 1974. I don't think I ever saw him again after that. I thought of Scot many times and often said to myself that I should look him up.....but I never did. I'm so sorry to hear that he died. From reading his obituary it sounds like he was throughout his life just like he was when we were kids, a kind and gentle person. Now he is with God, which is after all what life is all about....to get to heaven. I hope to see him there some day and reminise about all the good times we had. Sincerely Jim Strigel

I was sad to hear of Scot's passing. I worked with him for a short time at Generator. My daughter, Andrea helped him as a visiting nurse. Sorry I didn't get the chance to say hi back. A genuine nice guy, in the truest sence of the word.

We were so saddened to hear about Scooter's passing. I am a niece of Frank & Esther Welch and I think back of the great times we had together. Everyone considered him part of the family. He brought so many smiles to our faces and, although I had not seen him for several years, I will never forget how big his heart was and his gentle ways. Our thoughts and prayers to you Marilyn and peace to you Scooter, as you are reunited with your parents and all of those that have been waiting for you.
