Alice Gunter Calhoun, age 57, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2013 in Pensacola, Florida. Alice was born on September 7, 1955, in Mobile to her parents Wesley and Foye Gunter. She was the youngest of four children. On May 22, 1976, Alice married the love of her life, Aubrey Joel Calhoun. As a pastor's wife, her and her husband served in several churches throughout the states of Alabama, Texas, and South Carolina. She most recently resided in Andalusia, Alabama where her husband pastors West Highland Assembly of God. Alice was best known as a woman of exceptional faith. Despite suffering from a debilitating disease for over 15 years, she kept her faith firmly set on Jesus Christ. She enjoyed visiting the sick with her husband and saw that as her ministry to others. Alice's favorite hobbies were shopping and doing crafts. However, her most joyful moments were those spent with her family and friends. Alice was much loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Alice is survived by her husband of 36 years, her children, Scott (Sarah) Calhoun of Columbia, MO, Emily (Nathan) Brown of New Orleans, LA, and Kimberly (Matthew) Moore of Anniston, AL, and her three grandchildren Claire, Anders, and Gideon. She is also survived by her mother, Foye Gunter of Mobile, her brother, Ed (Karen) Gunter of Bay Minette, her sister, Teresa (George) Maddox of Semmes, and numerous relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by her father, Wesley, and her brother, Greg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at City Church of Mobile.
The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Saturday at the church. A graveside service will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Highland Assembly of God Building Fund.

Joel and family,
The news of Alice's passing brought us such mixed feelings. We love you guys. We sorrow in our hearts with you. Alice was such a sweet, wonderful, caring friend. Alice has been a blessing to everyone who knew her. Her never ending smile, her faith that never wavered and her love for others will be greatly missed. She was in inspiration on how to live in faith through good times and through adversity. That same faith never shown more beautiful than the last days she spent with her family. In loving memory I feel blessed tohave known Alice all these years.
