Alta Lula Pauley, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at her home. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Stevenson officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Saturday prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Alta Pauley to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd., Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Pauley was a member of Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church in Ft. Gaines, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt Col (Ret) Warren "Pete" Pauley in 1996.
Survivors include her son, Warren Peter Pauley, Jr. (Jennifer Greene) of Abbeville; her daughters, Suzanne Barringer (Syd) of Dothan and Julia Zuccaro (Vincent) of Phelan, CA; three grandchildren, Abbegail Barringer of Birmingham, AL, Warren Peter Pauley, III (Amanda) and Bill Barringer, both of Dothan; three great grandchildren, Payton, Anna, and Kimber Pauley, all of Dothan; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Sellers of Tuscaloosa, AL.

So sorry for your loss! She was a wonderful lady and we have such fond memories of Girl Scouts and TAV at the hospital. What an inspiration she was to a lot of young people.
