Dear Betty, I was shocked and very saddened when I heard about Bert. Unfortunately I did not find out soon enough to be there to lend support to you and your family as you have done so many times for ours. You were always a good friend to my parents and I will not forget that. Bert is my oldest friend. I remember, shortly after we moved across the road on Albon I met Bert. I think he was about 5 and I was about 6. We remained friends through all these years eventhough, at times we fought like brothers. I will always cherish his friendship that has lasted through the good times and the not so good times. My thoughts are with you, Denny and Jackie.

Cassandra, I pray you find comfort in these words of prayer,
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Know that I am praying for you!
Sorry for your loss

Dear Aunt Betty, Cassandra and the entire Billings clan,
A flood of fond childhood memories rushed over me when I heard of Bert Allen's passing. The memories were mostly of weekends and summers on Posey Lake. As I recall, boating and skiing were so much a part of the fun we had when we were kids. Our parents also got in on the act. I remember Uncle Bert, Uncle George and Daddy whipping each other around on the end of a ski rope trying to outdo one another. And, since Bert Allen and I were the same age, we were natural competitors when it came to water skiing. He was always so much better than I on one ski. He always won our little competitions. I also think Bert Allen's passion for racing boats began there on Posey Lake when we were young.
I am so sorry I cannot attend his service today. I am with you in thought and spirit.

Dear Aunt Betty and all....events like this are making it clearer that we are no longer the kids that Patty speaks of....suddenly we are the grown ups and one by one will be leaving....but for those who have faith, we understand that death is only the beginning of more time together, only without any pain or sickness or suffering. Trust and believe that BertAl is resting with Jesus.

My fondest memories are of when we were growing up. The many, many years we spent Christmas Days together as a family. The huge family dinners, the opening of gifts, the games we played, the laughter. And of course, swimming, boating, and skiing at the cottage at Posy Lake. Our childhood was good, we were all so very lucky. I will miss your calmness, and your laid back ways in these last many years as an adult. I can still hear your laughter, and I'm sure always will. I love you and will miss you much, cousin.
