Bessie Hilton was a longtime resident of Morton Washington; she retired from the Morton Hospital after 25 years of managing the housekeeping department.
Bessie then moved to Portland Oregon to be with her daughter and family. She maintained the running of the home while her daughter Shirley worked. Bessie also helped with the daily operations of the "Family Affair" daycare center in Gresham for 7 years.
After living in Gresham Oregon she moved to Cherokee, North Carolina for 3 years and then Nashville, Tennessee for 3 more years.
Bessie enjoyed the remainder of her life in Portland Oregon where she shared her southern hospitality, words of wisdom and her biscuits to her many many friends and family.
