Mrs. Betty Dorothy Whitfield, age 83 of Griffin passed away Friday, September 09, 2011 at Christian Ministries Hospice.
Mrs. Whitfield was born May 25, 1928 in Griffin daughter of the late Ashley Jefferson Dorsey and the late Alma Mae White Dorsey. She was preceded in death by husbands, Vine McMahon and William Whitfield and children, Tanya McMahon and Danny McMahon.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Mark & Joyce McMahon of Williamson; daughter & son-in-law, Dottie & Jerry Johnson of Griffin; daughter, Becky Callaway of Griffin; grandchildren, Amanda McMahon, Brandy McMahon, Marcus McMahon, Tanya Drennan, Jason Johnson and Jonathan Johnson; 9 great-grandchildren and sister, Mildred Royals. Several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
A time of visitation with the family to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Mrs. Whitfield will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
