I was saddened to just learn of "Gran's" death when I called last night to check on her. I met her through her loving granddaughter Edna Mills. I enjoyed the few years that I knew her. Edna loved her beyond measure. The love between the two of them was such a strong bond. My only consolation is that now Edna and Gran are reunited.
Rest in peace Charita, rest in peace. Much love.

It was wonderful to have met such a fine lady, and to have been able to call her my Great Grandmother. This was an amazing age to accomplish of 102 years old. We all miss you greatly and are glad to have had you in our lives. The most memorable times I remember and enjoyed, were the ones with all the family in the same place to enjoy everyone's company. The times you had birthdays at the park in Barbourville, KY; were we all feed the ducks, rented paddle boats, and enjoyed celebrating your birthdays. During those birthdays, Papaw was with the your two sons Lester and Lawrence having conversations. Your daughters: Mamaw, Francis, and Sue trying to get everything together on time with a little frustration in the air, but seemed to smooth over in the end. My sister enjoyed feeding the ducks while my mom tried taming me from getting into trouble. Edna and Steven seemed to help out when needed. It was nice to have came together as a family to celebrate an amazing woman's birthday. We Love and Miss You Great Grandma Helton. ? R.I.P.?

Grandma, we will MISS YOU greatly. I often thought and talked about you. One of the greatest memories for me of our time together and that I will not ever forget was the time I got to spend with you during school summer vacation. Walking to the square to the dollar stores and stopping to take a break and snacking on cheese and crackers. We had so much fun. We are blessed to have had you in our lives and we LOVE YOU dearly. Grandma, may you rest in peace and we shall see you again one day.
