Charles Wesley Fails, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at a local hospital. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Fain and Rev. Scott Sessions officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday. At other times, the family will be at his mother's home, 145 McArdle Road in Kinsey. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to the Dothan Masonic Lodge #466, P.O. Box 933, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Fails was born September 13, 1944, in Houston County where he lived all of his life. He was a member of the Dothan Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Dothan Rotary Club. Mr. Fails was the owner of Fails Heating and Air Conditioning for many years. He enjoyed golf, hunting and Alabama football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan.
Mr. Fails was preceded in death by his father, Wesley L. Fails, grandparents, Ed and Sarah Fails and Charlie and Lilly Farmer, and by his ex-wife, Mary Ellen Clark Fails.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy Fails Doyle (Clay), granddaughters, Ellen Clarke and Sarah Bentley Doyle, all of Mobile; his mother, Vivian Farmer Fails, Kinsey; a sister, Ann Ard (Ted), Kinsey; his fiance, Darlene Jiles; four nieces, Starla Hudson, Stacey Capps, Tracey Dunn and Marcey Ciecierski.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Capps, Stan Hudson, Jamey Dunn, Brandon Capps, Wesley Hudson and Tommy Hall.
